The Story Behind The Print

This portrait top-down view of The Circus in Bath in the snow is one of the most popular prints on this website and is a real bucket-list shot for drone photographers. This was taken at a time before drones could fit in your back pocket, and required a fair few permissions and careful planning to execute.

Printing

All my prints are printed to silver-based digital C-type Fuji archival photographic paper in matt finish to preserve the beauty of the photograph.

C-Type photo paper is really versatile as it is coated with a slightly stippled texture which I find not only gives a very natural finish with subtle colours, but also continuous tone - meaning the paper can produce subtle colour gradients, shadow detail and an almost 3-dimensional photographic feel.
